Austin, TX, January 30, 2023GovOS, the leading provider of digital transformation solutions for local governments, today announced the launch of three of the company’s records services in Sandusky County, Ohio Recorder’s Office. These records services will enable citizens to access thousands of official county public records online via a digital platform and better protect property owners against property fraud. At the same time, these services will make it easier for employees to process new records submissions electronically.

“The Sandusky County Recorder’s Office is committed to discovering new and impactful ways to enrich the lives of citizens through digital services,” said Colleen Carmack, Sandusky County Recorder. “In partnering with GovOS to launch these new offerings, we are furthering the county’s vision of improved accessibility and convenience, while deploying the latest innovative solutions to safeguard against the rising threat of property record fraud.”

The GovOS online records system makes it possible for citizens to search public county documents outside regular business hours. With the system, users can view and print copies of more than 400,000 official public records dating back from January 1,1980 to the present day. These records can be viewed from any device with an internet connection. All documents, including those recorded prior to 1980, can still be searched in person at the office during normal business hours.

With the new GovOS eRecording capabilities, a first for the county, the Recorder’s Office can process new recordings electronically, eliminating all or most indexing requirements and scanning needs. The document submissions are processed as if submitted in person or by mail. Only eRecordings from Simplifile and CSC can be submitted to the county at this time.

The county’s new property fraud alert system, GovOS FraudSleuth, allows property owners to sign up for alerts to be notified any time a document is recorded under their name or parcel ID. The offering is free to all Sandusky County citizens.

“These records services implemented by the Sandusky County Recorder show their commitment to improving the quality of life for the community they serve,” said Mark Nicks, Product Owner, GovOS. “These are foundational changes that demonstrate empathy and contribute to citizens’ peace of mind. By launching these services, the county is well-positioned to provide exceptional customer service for years to come.”

Citizens can search public records and sign up for FraudSleuth alerts by visiting the Sandusky County Recorder Online Services homepage.
