This system is designed to simplify registration for property owners while enhancing the Cityโs ability to enforce existing STR regulations. With this update, the responsibility for registration has shifted from the City Clerkโs Office to the Short-Term Rental Office, which will handle both registration and enforcement duties.
The new portal allows users to register and certify their rentals online, with access to a dedicated business center. All short-term rental properties must be registered with both the State of Rhode Island and the City of Newport.
