Austin, TX–January 12, 2023—GovOS, the leading provider of digital transformation solutions for local governments, today announced the Blanco County, TX Clerk’s Office has launched GovOS Property Alert. The alert system helps safeguard citizens against property record fraud by allowing citizens to sign up for alerts to be notified any time a document associated with a property is recorded.
“I’m thrilled to announce the launch of our new Property Fraud Alert System from GovOS,” said Laura Walla, Blanco County Clerk. “The Clerk’s Office strives to provide services that empower and protect the citizens of Blanco County. At a time when the threat of property fraud is at an all-time high, the importance of making this kind of service available to citizens cannot be undersold. With this added layer of protection, we help reduce the risk of home title theft by giving constituents the ability to take swift action in the event of fraudulent filings.”

With GovOS Property Alert, property owners can create profiles to be alerted when a document related to a specific parcel–such as mortgage, deed, or mortgage satisfaction–is recorded under the parcel ID or property owner’s name. Once a property owner registers in the system, they will be automatically notified by email when a document associated with the property is recorded by Blanco County. There is no cost to citizens to use this service and no limit to the number of alerts a person can create.
The notification email will include the document type, document reference number, recording date/time, and a link to the document in question. When a newly-recorded document matches a user’s criteria, the system will issue the alert within hours of filing. If the document looks suspicious, citizens can contact local law enforcement, as well as their attorney, to take further action.
Property owners can sign up for alerts by visiting blanco.tx.publicsearch.us and clicking on the Property Alert option at the top of the screen.
