Austin, TX – November 30, 2022GovOS, the leading provider of digital transformation solutions for local governments, today announced Berrien County, MI, has launched its Cloud Search solution. GovOS Cloud Search aims to be the best land record software for government records and will provide Berrien County citizens with advanced search capabilities to find and view public records from anywhere at any time. The public records platform houses all of the county’s land records and works together seamlessly with the Cloud Search solution.

“In addition to the preservation of some of the county’s most important historical records, it is also our duty to ensure public records remain easily accessible to our citizens,” said Lora Freehling, Berrien County Register of Deeds. “With Cloud Search, we can optimize an already efficient records management system and provide citizens with an easy and intuitive way to search vast amounts of land records. GovOS Cloud Search has allowed us to do just that by providing the public with 24/7/365 online access to search and view documents.”

With GovOS Cloud Search, users can now search the county’s more than 2.2 million documents that date as far back as 1831. All public records are accessible via mobile devices, tablets, computers and county workstations. Berrien, which recorded more than 39,000 new documents in 2021, first began working with GovOS in December 2011 to provide public records on a digital platform.

“The citizens of Berrien County have a treasure trove of historic information at their disposal, and now they have an easier way to search for even the most minute detail in that database,” said Mark Nicks, Product Owner, GovOS. “We applaud Lora and her team’s commitment to finding new opportunities to better serve constituents. The county’s efforts to continue implementing the latest technology to improve services demonstrate the team’s dedication to the community. We’re honored that GovOS was chosen to digitize county land records and are excited to be a part of the county’s continued efforts to expand online services for constituents.”

Berrien is now the fifth county in the state of Michigan to deploy GovOS Cloud Search, alongside Isabella, Mecosta, Roscommon, and Oceana. With its Google-like interface, the land record software combs through millions of digitized records and returns results within seconds. The system simplifies the search process for users who may be unfamiliar with land records while offering advanced options for those who want access to more detailed search functionality. Users can organize search results using grids that are sortable and resizable, and instantly see which records they’ve already opened with the help of the system’s highlighted line items.
